Composition: Ceftriaxone Sodium for Injection contains 0.5g or 1g Ceftriaxone Sodium.

Indications:

Infections caused by susceptible organisms, especially severe infection and infections which is not sensitive with other antibiotics, include:

Respiratory tract infections especially pneumonia, bronchitis, empyema, ear, nose and throat infections, kidney and urinary tract infections septicaemia, meningitis, infections prevention before operation; bone, joint, soft tissue, skin and wound infection, infected burns; abdominal infections, include peritonitis, biliary and gastrointestinal infections genitalia infections include gonorrhea.

Administration and Dosage:

Adults and children over 12 ages 1-2g once, by i.v. or i.m. injection per day.

Severe and moderately severe infections 1-2g, can be added to 4g, once daily.

Infants: 20-80mg/kg/day, in several doses by i.v. injection according to the infection, should be administered up to 3 days after fever disappear.

Meningitis infants: 100mg/kg/day, once every 12 hours by injection.

Gonorrhea: 0.25g in a single dose by i.m. injection.

Prevention before operation: surgery operation, 1g by i.v. or i.m. injection before anesthesia; bone operation; 2.0g per day by i.m. or i.v. injection.
