According to the preparation of Purple White mentioned in the famous Supplement to Thousand Golden Prescriptions by Sun Simiao, the famous medical and pharmaceutical expert in Tang dynasty of the ancient China, and Prescriptions of Taiping Civilian Benefiting and Preparation Manufacturing Bureau, the famous Pharmacopeia of Chinese traditional patent medicine in Song dynasty of the ancient China, and the requirements of Purple White preparation in China Pharmacopeia, the modern new pharmaceutical techniques are adopted to carefully choose the medical materials, and the restrict quality measures are applied to produce Purple White Granule.

The drug Purple White was a bulk preparation in Song dynasty, which was also called Purple White catholicon.
