Vincristine sulfate:

Action and indications:

Vincristine sulfate is an alkaloid extracted from vinca rosea. As a cell cycle specific

drug, it can inhibit growth of neoplasm and formation of proliferating cell

spindle, as a result, mitosis is stopped at its metaphase. Clinically, it is

similar to vinblastine sulfate with better effects, however, no cross tolerance

is found between the two drugs. It is more effective in the treatment of various

acute leukemia, especially acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In addition, it has some

effect for malignant lymphoma, chorioepithelioma, breast carcinoma, neuroblastoma,

nephroblastoma, brain tumors, lung cancer, leiomyosarcoma, cervix cancer and

alimentary tract tumor.

Used for preparation of vincristine sulfate for injections.

Vinblastine Sulfate:

Action and indications:

Vinblastine sulfate is an alkaloid extracted from vinca rosea. As a cell cycle specific

drug, it can inhibit growth of neoplasm and formation of proliferating cell

similar to vincristine sulfate in effects, no cross tolerance is found between the

two drugs. It is more effective in the treatment of malignant lymphoma, especially

lymphoreticular cell sarcoma, Hodgkin's disease, chorioepithelioma, breast

carcinoma, head and neck cancer, oropharynx cancer, neuroblastoma, monocytic leukemia,

lung cancer, cervix cancer and alimentary tract tumors, and it has some

effect in the treatment of lymphoma, nephroblastoma and melanoma.

Vinorelbine Tartrate:

Action and indications:

Vinorelbine is a vinca alkaloid, which is prepared by extraction from vinca rosea

and chemical semi-synthesis. It is the drug of choice for the treatment of small

cell lung cancer and advanced breast carcinoma. Vinorelbine has a direct activity

on dynamic equilibrium of tubulin, especially on division stage of tubulin. It

influences on tubulin in axon only at its higher concentration and its activity

on helical structure of tubulin is less the vincristine.

Vindesine Sulfate:

Action and indications:

It is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloids derivative, which can inhibit many neoplasms

of animal models and is more active than vincristine against neoplasm. It is

indicated in the treatment of pulmonary carcinoma, malignant lymphoma, breast carcinoma,

leukemia, germinoma, cancer of head and neck, oophoroma and soft tissue

sarcoma. It exhibits a broad spectrum of in vivo antitumour activity against graft

animal tumor and has no cross-resistance with vinblastine and vincristine.
